I’ll never forget watching my favorite teacher pack up her mat for the last time.
I’ll never forget watching my favorite teacher pack up her mat for the last time.
She wasn’t leaving yoga. She was leaving because after years of early mornings and weekend workshops, she couldn’t afford to keep teaching what she loved.
She wasn’t alone. Teacher after teacher — the ones who lit up rooms and changed lives — were walking away. Not from yoga, but from the impossible choice between their calling and their bills.
And this isn’t just a yoga teacher’s story. It’s the reality for wellness professionals everywhere — doing meaningful work while the business side quietly works against them.
I feel their pain because I live it too — a solopreneur trying to succeed in an unbalanced world. And I have found the reason for the imbalance and a way to restore what I can through SutraSuite.
The wellness industry is worth trillions of dollars. The platforms serving it are worth billions. Yet the teachers and small wellness business owners doing the actual work can’t make it. Why? Because those platforms were built with a different intention — to lock you in, put their brand on top of yours, and make leaving as painful as possible. They’re not built for you to succeed. They’re built to keep you trapped and profitable for them.
I refused to accept that.
So I partnered with tech and business experts who believed what I believed: that wellness professionals changing the world deserve better. Together, we built the platform I wish every teacher I loved could have had.

Meet The Founder
Alicia has practiced yoga for over ten years. But before she was ever a certified teacher, she spent fifteen years in marketing and business development — building brands, launching businesses, and working alongside health and wellness professionals.
That combination let her see something clearly. As she moved deeper into the yoga community, she watched talented teachers pour themselves into their students and still struggle — not because anything was wrong with their teaching, but because the business side was working against them. Disorganized systems. Patchwork tech. Platforms that took a cut of everything.
She recognized the pattern from her business years: the tools existed, but the ecosystem didn’t. A great booking app without support, education, and ownership is like a great pose without a foundation — it doesn’t hold.
So she built what she couldn’t find. SutraSuite came from real conversations with fellow teachers, tested and refined relentlessly, shaped by one belief: when yoga teachers and wellness practitioners can sustain themselves, everyone benefits — students, communities, and the practice itself.
Alicia built SutraSuite as a fellow teacher and business owner walking the same path — not ahead of the community, but with it.
